As a designer, I create effective communications — and sometimes coaching and problem-solving. No two projects are the same; what remains constant is always being a committed listener to your vision.
[Design Thinking is] an iterative, non-linear process... [which] includes activities such as context analysis, user testing, problem finding and framing, ideation and solution generating, creative thinking, sketching and drawing, prototyping, and evaluating.
I was lucky to have had Micheal Gerber, the author of the best-selling E-Myth, as my mentor for almost three years. (Michael and I made a short video together, so you don’t have to Google him.) I was trained to facilitate a 12-week business development course called The Dreaming Room. Along with Michael’s books, the Dreaming room has shaped my approach to client work.
"Successful entrepreneurs possess four characteristics:
Dreamer, Thinker, Storyteller, Leader."Michael Gerber
These four client personas are always present in the conversations and the “listening” that I have with my clients.
When I was in school, my favourite teacher was Alan Hill. He taught Design and Technology at UWCSEA. Alan taught me to think as a designer. I am forever grateful, Alan.
